Career: Over 43 years, Dr. Ibrahim hadserved in the academicresearch, electricalenergy production &interconnection, energystrategies and policies, international cooperation, technicalagreements and protocols, energy planning studies, computer aided design and management of energyprojects, renewableenergyincludinghydropower. In 28 April 2008 shewaselected and appointed as the Commissioner of Infrastructure &Energy, in the African Union Commission. In July 2012 shewasreelected for the same post. Shewasresponsible to lead the Infrastructure and EnergyDepartmentto realizeits mandate to enhanceRegional and Continental efforts for acceleratedintegrated infrastructure development and effective sustainabledevelopment of energyresources, through; Harmonization of sectorpolicies and strategies for the differentsectors of infrastructure (transport, energy, ICT, and tourism); Development and interconnection of infrastructure networks; Monitoring and facilitation of implementation of policies, strategies, integration- related to continental and regional infrastructure projects; Contribution to mobilization of resources for infrastructure development.
In October 2016 shewaselected as the vice chair of the World Energy Council for Africaregion to support and promote the development of the energy programs and activities in the Continent.
