MEDays 2009 under the theme "Co-responsible development"
Following the success and the recommendations who came out from the first edition of MEDays; The Southern Forum for a New EMEA, it was decided to expand the thematic of the 2009 MEDays to other regional spheres. For that reason, the second edition of the forum will address the necessity to extend the cooperation between the North and the South within Africa, while including in an operational way, the various political processes in progress in the region.

MEDays 2009 : an opportunity for the South to offer all solutions to the crisis
Placed under the sign of the Operational during its first edition, the MEDays Forum represents in these times of economic crisis, a framework for trade and practical proposals, where politicians and policymakers, both from the North and South shared their lecture, their views and solutions on specific issues and sectors. MEDays 2009 Forum will launch a joint appeal , but also to propose practical solutions for implementing a policy of concerted economic recovery including all actors Euro-Mediterranean and Euro-African. Providing Morocco and the south bank of the EMEA with a forum of this size, is a real opportunity, offered by the Amadeus Institute, giving a life coming from the "South" to a spirit of consultation, co-decision of joint venture, co-development and co worn by different final declarations of recent international conferences.
Themes 2009
As in 2008, the 2009 edition of MEDays will be organized into four half-days consisting of 4 plenary sessions and 16 parallel panels. Each of these half-day sessions will explore a particular problem. The panel will analyze each one aspect of this issue in order to propose concrete and rational recommendations.
The themes of the plenary sessions will include :
Crisis resolution, conflict prevention and promotion of human development: The priorities of a continent?
Global Security EMEA West: from confrontation to cooperation?
A plenary meeting organized in partnership with the think tank European reference Chatham House (United Kingdom).
Economic recovery: what commitments in emerging markets in the new international financial architecture?
Energy efficiencies, "Green Revolution" and water governance: emerging issues of the South?

The MEDays 2009 will be the scene of debates to more innovative ways. This will include:
la première fois que la crise économique et son impact sur la région seront discutés au Maroc à un niveau aussi élevé
la première fois que des participants d’un niveau aussi élevé (chefs d’Etat, prix Nobel, etc.) participeront au Maroc à une manifestation non gouvernementale
la garantie d’une couverture médiatique nationale et internationale exceptionnelle
la participation de plus de 10 chefs d’Etat et de gouvernement
