Plenary Sessions represent a highlight of the Forum. They are platforms of debate in which senior government officials and corporate executives speak about issues related to a pre-defined theme. Plenary Sessions also provide a thematic and conceptual framework that favors the analysis of the issues encompassing the subject. They generally last between one hour to one hour and a half, and include a few minutes of discussion, so that the participants can address their questions directly to the speakers.
Following the plenary sessions, the discussions create direct contact between the speakers and the audience. They are truly interactive sessions that last around 45 minutes.
PAnELS: As a continuation of the plenary sessions, the panels aim to deepen and generalize the topics discussed. They are structured around high-level experts and professionals, with the objective of analyzing contrasted and thus complementary perspectives. Panelists are led by a moderator for about 90 minutes. The goal of each panel is to formulate two to three concrete actions on the subject.
Novelty of the 10th edition of the MEDays, the initiatives are a way of sustaining the process of reflection in the long term. They bring together working groups, composed of decision-makers, opinion leaders and experts, who work in closed meetings, in parallel to the Forum, in order to reflect and come up with recommendations on different themes, while respecting the Rules of Chatham House. This year, the 10th edition of the MEDays will have three initiatives, on the following themes: «Euro-African Talks Initiative», «Gulf-Africa Business Initiative» and «African Health Initiative».
