Conflicts are now going beyond their usual borders. More and more, they are now turning to the virtual land of cyberspace. The manipulation or/and the acquisition of classified information are able to massively weaken the infrastructure, the economy and even the army of a country. For these reasons, the vital networks must be protected and prepared against any cyber-attack or intrusion.
Cyber war capacities have become more and more important at an operational level. Confrontation in the cyber sphere is now considered as the future shape of conflicts.
In a way or another, states worldwide along with armed forces, will inevitably put a substantial focus on securing their networks (which is already taking place to some extent) and will favor cyber defense over other offensive means.
